Lush - Dark Angels cleanser.

Lush Dark Angels cleanser - 'Rhassoul mud, charcoal and black sugar combine to create a very absorbent and exfoliating cleanser'. This cleanser is aimed at people with 'young and oily' skin. Designed to remove daily grub, grime and dirt and exfoliate at the same time. The tub says use 2-3 times a week, but the sales assistant assured me it would be fine to use twice a day. How to use: 'Put it in the palm of your hand, add a little water and mix to a paste or milk texture – then apply to face, work over the face then rinse off with warm water'.

So accidentally i didn't leave any product in the tub to show you, but as you can see on my finger above it's a black 'mud like' clay solution. Very thick and you can definitely feel the exfoliant. Although  with some added water it turns softer and more runny.

I found that this cleanser was a bit to 'scrubby' to use morning and night - i feel as if this would be great once a day whilst showering/bathing as a face scrub or face mask though as a facial wash twice a day it may be a bit too harsh. Despite this, it did a great job at scrubbing off makeup and really deep-cleaning my skin - you do need a fairly big blob to get everything off but this tub does definitely last a while - at least 4 months.
The smell isn't nice but it isn't unbearable if i remember correctly, it's like a clay smell. Not pleasant but i could cope. Unfortunately if you don't wipe your bath/sink straight after washing your face it can leave a black stain around the edges which was kind of annoying and it requires a good rub off your face 'cause it tends to stick in small corners.
Overall though, a nice facial exfoliant that cleans deep in the skin, but for me, i just don't think it is suitable as a daily cleanser for washing the face. As a mask/exfoliant it was very good - not amazing rush out and buy it, but very good for the price (£5.95 for 100ml)! I have heard a lot of good things about this, so i'd say try it out if it sounds good for you.

Definitely think i will try a different cleanser from Lush, a more gentle one next time though.
