Red Lips & Coral Cheeks.

One thing i love around christmas time is... the AVON book ahaha! It does some really good discounts and offers and one thing i've stocked up on this year is the double ended black and brown eyeliner - think i've ordered 4 more altogether, they're only like a pound or maybe even 75p BARGAIN!!

My mum and nanna hid it from me when the order came though because they was going to give it me for chrismas, cheeky! But i really wanted the lipstick i ordered,  so i kept mithering and i took two things out of it for now.  A blusher and the much awaited lipstick.

The blusher:
Avon True Colour Blusher (Russet)

A matte, coral colour - very pigmented so make sure you have a light hand or you end up looking like a bit of a clown (disaster). Otherwise it's a natural, bronzy flush.
Only downfall is, it can be a bit hard to blend. Only a little though. Think a good brush definitely helps though.

The lipstick: (I KNOW IT DOES NOT SUIT ME, looks like theatre/stage lipstick on me, i now dab a bit of my Mac - Hang Up on top to make it darker burgundy colour).

Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick (Red 2000)

It is honestly BRIGHT RED. Can't really tell on the pictures but all i can say is, it's a true bright red lipstick - not for the faint hearted. Extremely pigmented, one 'coat' is perfect and soo bright. It has a nice glossy finish and isn't drying on the lips. With lipliner it doesn't smudge outside the lips. Such a good lipstick!!! Want more in different colours - just hard because you can't see the colours properly in the Avon book or online, bit of a guessing game :/

Overall, two amazing products from Avon, can't wait to get the rest at christmas! Avon products are definitely high quality and good, just hard because you can't get a proper idea of the shades.
Definitely recommend both of the products especially the lipstick!

What i wore to the cinema?

Clothes
Jumper - Primark
Necklace - Primark
Leather Leggins - Primark
Boots - Varanni Shoe Shop
Bag - Random shop in Liverpool

Makeup - Simple winged eyeliner & natural lippy!

Foundation - Mac Pro-long wear mixed with Mac Select
Concealer - Mac Studio Fix
Powder - Mac Mineralise Skinfinish
Bronzer - Mac Mineralise Skinfinish
Lipliner - Natural Collection
Lipstick - Natural Collection

This is what i wore to go and watch Twilight - for the second time. Went with my friends then with my mum :)   Feel as though i wear these leggins and jumper ALL the time, forever in them, but they're so comfy, stylish and warm! Didn't realise how much was from Primark :O .. oh well, s'all about the bargains!    Winged eyeliner & Dark red lippy i am LOVING for this winter. But i decided to keep my makeup natural considering i got ready quite fast and was only going to the cinema. I alwayyyys wear either: Mac gel liner or the Collection 2000 felt tip liner pen thingy! Both have to be set with eyeshadow on my oily lids though!

Barry M vs Nails Inc.

This winter i am loving red/wine coloured nails (and lips).  Dark red nails are mature, classy but make a statement. They add a bit of grunge to a floral, feminine outfit and add a pop of colour to a dark outfit.
I must admit my nails have been red pretty much since i purchased the Barry M nail varnish towards the end of September. It's one colour i can't get enough off.

So i purchased the Barry M nail paint in 'Raspberry' whilst the Nails Inc nail varnish called 'Tate' i got free in either October or Novembers Glamour Magazine. And even though i knew i had a red nail polish already, i just had to have another because as i said, i love the colour so much.

The Barry M is slightly more pink - a proper raspberry colour (hence the name), whereas the Nails Inc is a true wine red.  Barry M's has also got a thicker consistency, the Nails Inc is lot thinner/watery but still both highly pigmented. I find the Nails Inc can be a little bit streaky sometimes and seems to chip a little easier than the Barry M. Overall, they're both very easy to paint on and only need two coats to get a full coverage. If you want a true red colour then i'd definitely go for the Nails Inc. But once the Barry M has two coats there is very little difference! The Barry M has a nice thick-ish consistency that makes it easy to blend in and achieve a streak free finish, though you have to work a little harder to make the Nails Inc streak free. Both have a nice glossy, professional looking finish.

I'd definitely re-purchase the Barry M (£3) over the Nails Inc (£11) anytime!

Modelling for Media

As i've probably mentioned before, my boyfriend (Mark!) is doing a media course at college and i've been recruited as his 'model'.  His project was to design a 'Lucozade attracter' so, he had to advertise three companies through the Lucozade bottle.

One company was 'Frank' (drugs advice) - So his concept was 'Don't let drugs fade you away'.
So i was model, stylist and makeup artist in one. Good job i can multi-task.
We wanted the 'morning after a big night out look' so i made myself look as rough as possible (only one half of my face) and wore an old dress. Then he wanted to put the other half of my face as a skull and did the effect that i was 'fading away'.

Before editing:

Final edit:

The next one was 'Brook' (sexual health advice) - So for this one he wanted to do my eye-makeup in Lucozade colours (Red, Orange, Yellow, Purple) and his was going to put hands 'Opening my eye' as in, 'Open your eyes - be safe'. I did two looks, i preferred the second look but he used the first look.

First look:

Second look:

Final Edit

The third one's 'Young Minds' (mental health advice) - For this i had to pose like a puppet. The motto being 'Don't lose control', talk to 'Young Minds' before you lost control, get help!

Before editing:

Final edit:

So, that's all the modelling, make-up etc. i have done so far for his media. They have to upload their work onto their blog for his course so check his out - www.prettygreenp.blogspot.com.  It has all his media work on there.

Oh you smell nice!

As a huge Rihanna fan i was counting down until her perfume was launched and just knew i had to get it! I'd been searching online and all reviews i'd read said it was a really nice. But, i was still really unsure - i didn't want the perfume just because i liked Rihanna.
Hoping and hoping i genuinely liked the perfume, when i finally got to smell it, i did in fact really like it.

And apparently, so does everybody else.
No doubt everytime i wear this perfume at least one person says 'You smell nice, what perfume are you wearing?' and everytime my answer still is.. 'Rihanna's'. Reb'l Fleur has a really strange (but lovely) scent, it isn't like the usual perfume i would wear (floral, sweet, girlie) and to me it isn't a strong scent, i can't seem to smell it when it's on me, but everyone else seems to pick up on the scent. I don't wear this everyday i switch it up between this, Juicy Couture. I love my Juicy Couture it's one of my favourite perfumes but how i can i resist wearing Reb'l Fleur when i get so many compliments.

Whats your all time favourite perfume? Do you like Reb'l Fleur by Rihanna?

LOVED wearing this outfit. Comfy & Casual yet i looked like i made an effort = perfect (for me anyway). I purchased the top years ago from Miss Selfridge and now i'm really liking it again!

So, my boyfriend Mark had the honours of taking these photographs. He's doing media at college so i thought he'd be the perfect camera man - practice those skills! We went into his backgarden and basically took like a gazillion pictures.  Really like the background its scruffty looking. Might take all my pictures at his house? Bet he'll love that.

Couldn't be anymore in love with that scarf if i tried. It's a copy of the Alexander Wang one! From good old primark. They do quite a few colours, but i couldn't decide between the cream or the black one! So i eventually got the cream one. A few days later my mum surprised me with the black one (yay). They're only like £2/3, bargain! Go get um ;)

My Autumn/Fall Inspired Makeup

Bold Lips, Natural Bronzy Eyes and Dewy Complexion = Perfect Autumn Look.

The lipstick i'm wearing in this picture is out of a cheap palette. But i'm absolutely loving it. It's more of a lip stain than a lipstick. Although i recently bought a MAC lipstick called 'hang up' which i LOVE.

Face:
MAC Select foundation.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish & MAC Blot powder (to set).
MUA Bronzer (on cheekbones)
Set with MAC Studio fix +

Eyes:
120 Palette - goldy colour on eyelid, shimmery brown in crease and blended up, matte cream as highlight and in inner corners.
MAC e/s in 'Brown Down' on bottom and top lash lines.
Avon Supershock mascara for long thick lashes.
Rimmel Eyebrow pencil to fill in brows, set with 'Brown Down' e/s.

Lips:
Exfoliate so they're smooth. Put on lipbalm, i used carmex. Neutralise lips with concealer or foundation. Apply maroony, purpley, deep lipstick or stain. Set with powder and add another layer. Apply a coat of lipbalm on top for a dewy look.

Tadaahhhh! Perfect for those autumn days.

MAC Studio Tech Foundation Review.

I have MAC studio tech foundation is NC42, which is like the perfect colour for me in the autumn/winter time when i'm a bit paler. I used it all in i'd say about.. 3/4 months. Which is pretty bad considering the MAC bottled foundations last a lot longer. I wrote this review a while ago, had it saved so i've decided to post it on here. I got this when i was experimenting with different foundations. What i didn't realise is it's more for dry skin and i have oily skin - oopsy! But still, here's some pro's and con's:

Pro's:

  • I love the consistency it's so creamy and goes on really smooth with either a stippling brush, your fingers or a normal foundation brush or even the sponge that comes with it.
  • The colour is a really nice yellow undertone, not too orangey or yellowy. It's a really nice 'skin like' colour?
  • It blends really really easily.
  • It gives a flawless but dewy look to the skin, so it still looked natural.
  • It actually does look really good on photo's (when you first put it on) - dewy flawless healthy looking skin.
  • Buildable Coverage.
  • Packaging. Cute, hard plastic compact with sponge it the bottom. Easy to carry around.

con's:

  • It doesn't stay on my skin that well. I would itch or rub my face and it would all come off over my hands and clothes -.- so annoying. Rubs off so easily. So wear it - just don't touch your face!
  • So it looked great on pictures at first! Then after a good few hours it would make me look like an oily, greasy mess on pictures. GREAT. Not what you need. I repeatedly had to keep setting it with my Blot Powder. Not ideal when i'm out.
  • My powders, blush etc. didn't seem to stay on top very well. Although they do on top of other foundations. I think 'cause it was so creamy and when it rubbed off my powder rubbed off too.
So obviously, there are more pro's than con's! But i would recommend this foundation for people with drier skin rather than oily like mine. But overall it is definitely a nice foundation with a nice finish. But if your skins really oily - DON'T DO IT!

Get to know me..

My name is Nadia.
Where do you come from ?
I'm from Manchester, England. Born 'n' Bred.
How old are you ?
I’m 16 years old.
What’s your job ?
I'm a college student.
What camera do you use ?
My camera is a Sony Cyber-shot. Model DSC-W370. 14.1 mega-pixels. Good quality pictures and video's!
What software do you use to edit photos ?
I use 'Photobooth' or any other Apple apps.
Do you have any piercings ?
I have three piercings: my ears, my belly button, and my hip (which i love) and planning more soon.
Where do you get all your jewellery ?
Most of my jewellery is from Primark! So cheap, affordable and cute. Although i have a lot of stuff from Topshop too, which i almost always pick up the sale, not purposely though. I have an amazing watch necklace from my nan (vintage) and Republic has some good purchases too.
Where do you buy your clothes ?
Oooh anywhere and everywhere. I love Topshop! River Island, H&M, Zara, Vintage Stores, Miss Selfridge any high street shop really.
Do you dye your hair ?
I'm actually allergic to hair dye :( 1, 2, 3 - awwww! Although i didn't find this out until i dyed my hair black a few years ago. But i used to have highlights all the time, using the cap, so it didn't touch my scalp and i didn't react. But i hated my roots showing through! So, i had it dyed back to my natural haircolour. Long story. I had this stupid ring thing around my head (like one of them things you put round  a cat/dogs head after they've been to the vets) so it didn't touch my scalp. Luckily the dye was the right colour so no roots, yaaay! It was really black at first, now the sun has faded it a little, so it looks like i have highlights.
What product do you use to keep your hair healthy ?
I change what i use quite a lot! I used to love head and shoulders - but now i'm using Pantene Pro-v and i love it. Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner is amazing. I also have a hair mask i bought on holiday (Rose of Bulgaria) which i use 2-3 times a week. My heat defence and hairspray are Tresemme!
What make up do you use ?
My basic day-day makeup changes a lot. But it's pretty much all MAC. Sometimes Pro-Longwear Foundation or sometimes Select spf15. I love my MAC Mineralize Skin-finish! LOVE IT. And the Blot Powder. I use the Wet 'n' Wild Cover All Concealer Palette. MAC gel eyeliner or my Maybelline Pencil Eyeliner. Avon SuperShock Mascara MY FAVE, so good!
How did you 'learn' makeup ?
I watched Youtubes video's since i was about 13, followed blogs, went to beauty counters- then practice, practice, practice and experiment! I love makeup and even though i'm not training in makeup at college i do plan on doing makeup courses in the evenings and in the future. I'd like to be qualified as a makeup artist but i'm also doing psychology, sociology, english lang&lit and philosophy at college. So i'll see where i go from there.
On this blog: I'm going to be reviewing, doing tutorials, favourites, tips and tricks, Face of the Day's, hairstyles? (maybe), fashion looks\lusts, wishlist's. OMG ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING TO DO WITH MAKEUP, STYLE, BEAUTY, SKINCARE, JEWELLERY! Anything to help make us girls look and feel absolutely beautiful.
Also hoping to start making Youtube video's..
