Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Photobucket
Photobucket

Maybelline's new 'Fit Me' range of products (foundation, concealer, perfect) finally came to the UK not too long ago. I must admit i had never really heard of this range until i saw it in Superdrug, tried the foundation and concealer on my hand and wanted it from then on in. Although i'm being a really good beauty blogger and after acknowledging i have way too many foundations i settled for the concealer only.

The products all look very sleek and nice - much more expensive than you would think. And thankfully, so far *touch wood* the writing hasn't rubbed off - i hate that. The doe foot applicator is really good for applying little dots of product onto the area before blending with your finger or a brush. You also get a large amount of product on the brush so you don't have to keep dipping the brush back in and feeling like you're using tons of product.

Left - No Concealer                                             Right - Fit Me Concealer
I'm really hoping you can see the difference above. I don't think this concealer is particularly a heavy duty, full coverage concealer. To me, it's more highlighting and brightening than anything. I really love the effect it gives especially on the under eye area. It looks so natural whilst still giving a good medium coverage as i say, if you like a really heavy coverage this wont be for you. It looks gorgeous on the skin and blends so easily. I also use it down the bridge of my nose to add a bit more coverage and highlight.

If you're looking for a concealer that will help cover imperfections whilst looking natural and luminous then you will definitely, definitely love this. And for £5.99 from Superdrug it's not gonna' break the bank. If you have less restraint than me you might want to take up the 3for2 offer on this range and get all three products ;)

Have you tried anything from this range? What do you think?

MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash.

Hello! I mentioned on sundays night #bbloggers chat when we was talking about beauty must-haves that at the moment my favourite mascara was this one by MAC. I got it in one of those little christmas sets they do last year but, haven't got round to using it until now. To be honest, i didn't expect much from this mascara, i don't recall hearing particularly good things about MAC mascaras in the past so, i was pleasantly surprised.

Photobucket

Photobucket

It has the typical sleek, black packaging of MAC products. It's quite slim and compact so great for taking out and about with you. The brush is a little different for me because i tend to prefer rubber brushes but i actually found this works really well at the really getting in to the lashes and coating them. It's tapered to a thin point at the end so you can really get to the inner and outer corner lashes which can sometimes get missed. I find the brush is loaded thick with lots of product on so it's enough for both eyes. Although i can be a bit of a pain if you just want to really lightly coat the lashes.

Photobucket

Photobucket

As you can see the mascara is really, really black. So if you want strong, black lashes then you will definitely love this. It makes the lashes stand out so much. I really love the effect it has on the lashes, the first time i used it, i was like wow. It's so easy to get long, bold eyelashes in one quick coat. I think it can give a spiders leg effect so if you want more natural lashes i don't think this mascara is for you. But overall it's definitely my favourite mascara of the moment, maybe ever? I'm not sure yet. It is quite wet when you fist apply it so you can have to be careful not to smudge it but apart from that it makes me lashes look exactly how i want them too so i'm not complaining!

At £14 it's pricey but i think if you're willing to spend that much it's definitely worth it. On to my christmas wish-list it goes ;)  Buy it in store or online here.

What do you think - have you tried it? Whats your favourite mascaras? I'm always on the lookout for a new one to try..

Revlon Colourstay Gel Eyeliner.

As i mentioned in my last post, i won a little Revlon twitter competition which was a lovely little treat. I really do enjoy Revlon products they tend to be pretty good quality and not too expensive! I received this eyeliner at the perfect time to be honest, my beloved MAC one has started to dry out a little (i have had it a while) so i was really looking forward to testing this out and so far, so good..

Photobucket

I love the little packaging of this, it's similar to a few other high-street gel eyeliners out there. It's really little so easy to carry out and about and although i don't love this brush it's really handy. Can't complain really :)

Photobucket

As you can see, the eyeliner is pretty pigmented in one stroke (no need for going over and over). The pigmentation does get a little weaker at the end of the line but thats just due to there not being much left on the brush. Like i just mentioned, i'm not a huge fan of the brush (but it is better than taking another brush out with you), i personally find an angled brush like the one's from H&M and Muji to work much better at packing the liner on.

It is very easy to create a smooth, opaqaue line with this eyeliner. It lasts all day long as long as you don't watch The Vow and cry like a baby. So, it's pretty impressive and much cheaper than high-end versions. Theres nothing really negative to say.

You can buy it from Tesco here for £7.99 whereas from Superdrug it costs £8.99. But nevertheless, it's definitely a good, staple part of my makeup collection and i will definitely be purchasing this over the MAC one when i ever run out..

Have you tried this gel eyeliner? Whats your favourite gel eyeliner?

Revlon Super Lustrous 'Cherry Blossom' Lipstick!

A few weeks ago now, i won a little Revlon twitter giveaway, how exciting. It was such a pleasant surprise i kind of forgot i entered to be honest. I received three items from the Shanghai Collection: lipstick, nail varnish and gel eyeliner.

The first thing i delved into was the lipstick. Red and therefore perfect for this season (plus Cherry Blossom is such a cute name!).

Photobucket

Photobucket

As you can see it's a lovely, bright red. Russian red comes into my mind. It's very elegant and i feel so smart wearing it hahaa. It has little hint of pink but apart from that it's a true, in your face, red. It's a pearl formula so it does have some shine to it but i think it just gives the appearance of smooth, luscious  lips which is sometimes hard to achieve with a bright lipstick.

Photobucket

It's so easy to apply, no dragging or pulling just smooth, easy application. I prefer to blot it a little once on to create a stain like effect as it suits me much better and also lasts a lot longer. It's crazily pigmented so seems much more high-end and better quality than some other drugstore lipsticks. So for £7.50 you can't really go wrong if your looking a classic red lipstick this winter.

It's available here from Boots, along with lots of other lovely colours i am dying to try from the Super Lustrous lipstick line!

What do you think of this classic red? Winter must have?

Essie - School of Hard Rocks!

Photobucket

Essie's 'School Of Hard Rocks' drawn me in instantly - such a unique colour, i have nothing like this in my rather pink orientated nail varnish collection. Now it's winter i've been looking for some more muted, dusky shades to. I picked it up at Pro Beauty for a discounted price (win!) and kind of regret not getting more! See my haul here.
The only way to describe this colour is a darkened, dusky, turquoise. It's so different from other colours i have seen, leaning green in the light. It looks so gorgeous on the nails, so sophisticated and adds some colour whilst still being muted.

I would genuinely urge you all to get your hands of this shade. Compared to the Essie polishes i tried from TK Maxx (here) this is so much better - it lasts 4/5 with minor chipping on the tips and is fully opaque and streak free in two coats.

Aaah love and first sight eh. Have you tried this colour? What are you favourite nail colours this A/W?

NYX Cream Eyeshadows - Pinky Beige & Chestnut!

Photobucket

Some more Pro Beauty purchases! The NYX stall was just heaven, everything was discounted and there was looots to choose from. One things i didn't plan on buying, but couldn't resist, was these two Cream Eye Shadows.

Artificial lighting -  Pinky Beige (left) & Chestnut (right).

Sun light - Pinky Beige (left) & Chestnut (right).

I did a full FOTD using Pinky Beige here! It looks so gorgeous on the eye with a pinky/gold eyeshadow on top. Perfect for brightening and opening the eyes up and adding some colour! It's fairly easy to use, simple use the doe-foot applicator in the tube to put it on the eye. Or you can use a synthetic brush to apply it to the lid and blend it out. So gorgeous and cute. Would also look lovely as a highlighter.

Chestnut i used for the first time the other day after watching one of Tanya Burr's tutorial. She used a dusky, maroon paint pot on Millie Mackintosh and did an amazing smokey eye. I thought this sounded pretty similar so of course i had to give it ago! It's such a gorgeous maroon (i love maroon!) and translates so lovely on the lid. It's so good for adding a bit of colour to a smokey eye simply add a dark brown or black to the outer crease.

Both are very pigmented and last all day long without creasing especially when worn with an eyeshadow on top. Both are simple to use, quick to put on and are opaque in one layer.

Available from the NYX website here for £5.

MAC 'Hang Up' Lipstick!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I picked up the shade 'Hang up' last A/W as of course plum lipsticks were so in and i had to have one! I originally had my eye on 'Prince Noir' but upon trying it on it did not suit me whatsoever. Nor did 'Rebel' or any of the other plum-ish shades MAC did. 'Hang Up' was about the only one that looked nice - i was in love then and i still am now.

'Hang up' is a cremesheen formula which means it has a glossy, shiny finish to it, rather than matte. This means it glides on so easily and makes the lips look so healthy (good for those with dry/chapped lips). Because of the formula it doesn't last as long as other MAC lipsticks but nevertheless it does last a considerable amount of time (2-3 hours not including eating or drinking). Top ups are sort of necesarry with this as it's not natural in the slightest and you want it to look opaque at all times. But, one swipe is really all you need for opaque, dark lips (sometimes to too pigmented for my liking!)

Photobucket
Photobucket
As you can see, this lipstick is a deep berry slash red wine colour. It's like a really dark red with tints of purple through it. A pretty lovely and unique shade in my eyes. I really love it as a statement shade for A/W and sheered out it looks just as pretty and far more wearable! When applied really lightly it adds a more lilac toned tint to the lip perfect for the spring and summer months too. Great for all year round :) But be careful, it your going for full on glamour, careful application is a must! A lip brush might come in very handy.

What do you think of 'Hang up'? One for you this A/W?

Collection 2000 Cream Puff - 'Cotton Candy'!

Today i have one of my favourite lip colours to show you and it's one of my most used lip products. I never thought i'd love this Collection 2000 Lip Cream as much as i actually do, it's one i tend to reach for when in a hurry and know it won't let me down. It's such a steal costing only £2.99.

Photobucket
Photobucket
I have the shade 'Cotton Candy' which is a lovely mauve, pink! You can see me wearing it here.

Essentially these are what it says on the picture above - 'Velvety soft, matt finish, lip creams'. You can apply one layer for a nice wash of colour or apply another for an opaque finish! They go on so smoothly (although a little streaky at times) and the doe foot applicator making precise application very easy.

Photobucket

Matte lovers will absolutely love this. It dries completely matte, not one hint of shine and lasts on the lips like a stain. It's very long lasting so one for those who don't like topping up! Although it's not too good if you eat/drink it will make it patchy so you will need to patch it up :)

But, it's a gorgeous pink colour - very flattering and doesn't require any hard work! So a winner in my eyes.

What do you think of these lip creams? Do you want to try them?

MAC Prep + Prime - Skin Base Visage Primer!

Hello lovelies! Today i have MAC's Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage to show you (bit of a mouthful) - basically a primer. You basically apply this before makeup and it's supposed to 'Calm and soothe the skin, blot away excess oil, and even out skin redness' and also 'Improve the laydown and application of foundation or powder'. An all-round product then? It costs £19.50 for 30ml of product from MAC online/store.

Photobucket

Photobucket
The primer comes in a nice, slim, black bottle with little speckles of glitter all over it. It looks pretty cute but the black, opaque packaging means you can't see how much product you've used which can be pretty annoying. But, i have had this for ages and it doesn't seem to be running out every time soon.

I usually use a small, pea size blob of this (slightly less than foundation) and massage into my face using clean hands. It's got a really smooth consistency and feels light on the skin. It's white in coloured but blends transparent into the skin and it's also infused with little specks of shimmer. I don't really like the shimmer particles they look quite obvious when it's applied online and enhances visible pores and oily skin.

Photobucket
As a primer it does really help the application of foundation to be smooth and easy. And creates a smooth, even base for it to apply onto. Apart from that though i don't really see much differences when i do/don't use it. For the price i'm disappointed it doesn't do more! Makeup doesn't last any longer and the shimmer just makes my nose area look worse. But i think for those with drier skin types it will help foundation go on easier and the shimmer will brighten the skin and give your skin a glow.

But, i wouldn't recommend it as i'm pretty sure there are similar/better products out there for £19.50 or less. But hey ho, that's just my opinion.

If you've tried it - what do you think?

NYX Lip Liners - 'Natural' & 'Sand Pink'.

Today i have two lip liners to share with you. NYX Slim Lip Pencils! I got mine from Beauty Joint (here) and they convert from 2.99 dollars to £1.88 each. They do a large array of colours so you're definitely spoilt for choice! I went for two shades: a natural one, so i can wear it under any lipstick and a pink one as i mainly wear pink lipsticks.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Left - Sand Pink      Right - Natural

There's not much to say about the packaging they are small, slim and sleek so no hassle to carry around or store. They're like any other lip liner, in a pencil form. They require sharpening but, i haven't had to do that yet as they seem to last really long anyway. The liners aren't soft and creamy but neither are they harsh or hard to draw with. They have a nice firm texture to ensure the lipstick can grip to them and make it last longer. They are really long lasting (all day!). I think for the price they are a seriously amazing and will save you a lot of money.

Photobucket
'Natural' is as the name says - natural. It really is a 'lip colour'. A mix of brown and pink so it's not even detectable on the lips. I think this will suit most people lips and blend in really well. It's suitable under any lipstick and helps to prolong the wear. I love it, so versatile!

Photobucket
'Sand Pink' is the brighter of the two shades and a lot more obvious than the natural shade. This as you can see is a bright, mid-toned pink - it's not too light or too deep. This can be used under a pink lipstick to help prolong the wear and maybe make it look a little brighter. Or you could also colour in your whole lips and apply a nude lipstick over to give it a tint of pink. Colourful lip liners, like this, are a good way to change the look of a lipstick you already own!

I really like both these lipliners - they are the only two i own but all i really need at the moment. I do plan to add a few more to my collection at some point but i don't feel the need to try a different brand when these are so good and so cheap!

Do you use lipliners often? If so, what's your favourite brand

Bargain: Stila Tinted Moisturiser!

Hello all! So you've probably seen a few posts about the Stila Tinted Moisturisers due to them being on sale in Poundland for just £1. Yes £1. That is such a bargain. Unfortunately, i could not find it in Poundland (it seemed to avoid me as every bugger else could find it!). So i got mine off Ebay for a respectable £3.49 - still a pretty good bargain in my eyes!

I've been wanting to get into a lower coverage for a long while, my skin has been really good at the moment so i didn't want to cake my face in foundation for no reason. It's "Summer" so i wanted to let my skin breathe a little bit. Also having oily skin i needed something oil free so it would last as long as possible. So of course i had to give this product a try (it saved me shelling out £33 for the Laura Mercier one).

Photobucket
Photobucket

Onto the product, the Tinted Moisturiser comes cased in a grey, plastic bottle. It isn't the most aesthetically pleasing packaging but it's light, does the job and can be chucked around willy nilly. Perfect to take travelling or in your handbag. And the squeezy nozzle means it's really easy to control how much product you get out. I normally use slightly more than my foundation just because i'm getting use to the low coverage.

I have the shade Medium 03. The shades come in Light 1, 2, 3, Medium 1, 2, 3 and Dark 1,2,3. So there are plenty of shades to choose from although the availability isn't easy /:

Photobucket
P8210148
I used my burn as reference for coverage.

The consistency comes out quite thick but i find it isn't too hard to blend (i use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush or Sigma Flat Top Kabuki) and looks really natural on the skin. When it's applied and blended you can't even feel it.

The coverage is low, which is what you expect from a Tinted Moisturiser it basically just events out the skintones, mutes down any redness and generally just helps to make the skin look more even. It looks like it's your skin just more flawless looking. It's great everyday when you're just nipping out for a few hours and just want to look a bit more put together. The lasting power isn't fantastic but, i have really oily skin so it'll last a lot longer on dry/normal/combo skin. On me, it's lasts around 5 hours before looking 'too shiny' but it's nothing a bit of powder won't solve. Also, this gives a natural, dewy effect anyway.

Anyway, i really like it but, that's my take on it? If you've tried it what do you think? Definitely worth the small price-tag?!

MAC 'Twig' Lipstick!

Hey all! This post is far overdue, i've been meaning to share this MAC lipstick with you for god knows how long. I really love this lipstick and wear it often so i don't know why it's never got round to having it's own blogpost. But it has now...

Photobucket

Photobucket
'Twig' is one of Mac's more natural shades. It's a satin finish which means it not completely matte but nor is it shiny, it's like a semi-matte finish. This is better for people like me who have quite dry lips as it's less drying than matte formula's but still has a long lasting, opaque finish. 'Twig' is described as a 'Soft muted, brown-ish pink' and i totally agree. It's a lovely mauve, pink that isn't bright but isn't too dark. On me it's like a my lips but better and a little pinker shade which i really like as it's still really natural and literally goes with anything! I shove this lipstick on when i can't decide on any other and know it will great!
Photobucket
The picture makes the lipstick more pink and a tiny bit lighter than it actually is.

I absolutely adore 'Twig', definitely my favourite natural lip shade. It just looks fab and lasts for ever because of the formula! I have confidence i can wear this anytime and it look great and not need a lot of maintenance which is definitely a winner in my eyes. I recommend you swatch this is and check it out - i have a hunch it may suit most skintones! I think it'd look more striking on lighter skintones and more natural on darker ones like mine.

But, yeah, i like it - alot!! It's £14.00 from MAC but it's definitely worth the price - cost per wear ;)

 What do you think?

Bargain: Technic High Lights!

Morning all! Today i want to share this little gem with you! A bargain, a dupe and an all round great buy. Lately, Technic have been coming out with some amazing dupes - two being Benefit dupes ('That gal' primer and 'High beam' highlighter). I picked up the 'High Beam' dupe from Bodycare for a mere £2.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
As you can see, Technic have really gone to town with this dupe. The bottle looks virtually the exact same as 'High beam' and Technic have played on the name and called theirs 'High lights'. It's such a good dupe inside and out. The brush is also the same as Benefits and applies the product really well.
Photobucket
In terms of colour - 'High Lights' again is pretty much the same! I don't actually own High Beam so i can't say for sure, but looking at swatches online there really isn't any difference atall.

Technic's highlighter is quite thick and creamy but not so much that it's hard to blend. In fact, it blends really easily but i suggest blending it out straight away. I dot this on the area i want to highlight then blend with my finger or a fluffy brush and repeat that anywhere else i want to highlight. It does a really lovely job of brightening the face and making you look luminous and glowy. I was a little hesitant it might be a bit too light for my skin-tone but it doesn't at all. It just adds an icy, pinky glow to the area's i apply it. It isn't overly shimmery either, so it does look pretty natural. But you could add more for a really luminous glow!!

Overall you really cannot fault this product. It's a great highlighter (dupe or not) and will save you a few pound if you are a 'High beam' fan. Personally now i have tried this, i don't think i'll ever purchase Benefit's as there is no need. I do prefer more gold toned highlighters but this is a nice change and for £2 it didn't exactly break the bank! I think this is great for all skin-tones (light, dark, oily, dry!) as i am dark-skinned with a really oily t-zone and it looks great and lasts a long time on me so, i have no doubts it'll last even longer on those with normal or dry skin.

You can buy it from Bodycare (in store) or from Amazon for £2.30.

I'm a huge fan - are you? Have you tried this or are you a 'High beam' lover?

Sleek Purchases: Eau La La Liner & 'Rose Gold' Blush.

Hello! I have two makeup itemstoday both from Sleek. I bought these quite a long while ago now but have never got round to blogging about them.
I shared my first ever Sleek purchase here and on the same day i went and ordered these off the website! Delivery was fairly fast and i was really happy with the service.

These liners are meant to be useable on the eyes, lips, eyebrows or anywhere on the body you wish. There are 19 colours available so far. I went for 'Raisin' due to the fact i was looking for a purple eyeliner at the time but i also thought it'd be a good lipliner with plum lipsticks and a good base for a purple smokey eye! It unfortunately isn't too great for eyeliner as it's a plum - red based - so it can make eyes look really bloodshot/tired (not nice!). But, it is very long lasting, hard to smudge and opaque in one swipe which is good.
When looking at reviews of these people said when they received theirs the led inside the pencil was loose and came out a little bit. I had this problem with mine but it isn't too bad you just push it back in and it should be okay!

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Here we have what i think must be one of Sleeks most popular blushes. I could never find it in store and it was sold out for a long time online, this is because it's a really good dupe of the much loved Nars 'Orgasm' blusher. Looking at swatches online it's pretty much exactly the same.
'Rose Gold' is a pink blusher with lots of gold shimmer. This makes it a perfect blush and highlight in one as it adds a flush of pink but the shimmer highlights the cheekbones. I find this blush needs a bit of building for the colour to show up quite opaque - but maybe this is because i have a darker skintone. I think it'll suit all skintones though (especially paler).

So, if you're looking for a good, cheap dupe of Nars's 'Orgasm' then Sleek is definitely the place to go! After buying this i can safely say i will not be investing in 'Orgasm'.

Have you tried any of these products? Or Sleek in general? What do you think? :)
