MAC Fabulousness Eye Kit (Holiday Collection).

Hello! Just a quick post as i am fully aware that this is no longer available online. Although i did spot some on sale (few pound off) in Selfridges literally a few days ago so run, quick.
This is basically a cute little eyeshadow palette with three larger colours, two smaller ones and a little brush in a handy little case with a mirror. Very cute. There are different variations, you can still grab the 'Warm' variation online now (not this one!) here.

I have the Neutral palette containing eyeshadows: Magical Mist, Blonde Mink, Brun, Enviable, Smut. All are lovely, pigmented colours that are easy to wear. I know Burn and Smut are permanent MAC eyeshadows both of which i was overjoyed to get in this palette (especially Smut - that has been on my wishlist for months!).

As you can see, they're all lovely colours. I love how you can easily create a brown smokey eye and add a little bit of the blue (Enviable) for a pop of colour. I find myself reaching for this palette as it is so easy to use.

This was a lovely christmas present. Did you get anything from the MAC holiday collection?

NYX Cream Eyeshadows - Pinky Beige & Chestnut!

Some more Pro Beauty purchases! The NYX stall was just heaven, everything was discounted and there was looots to choose from. One things i didn't plan on buying, but couldn't resist, was these two Cream Eye Shadows.

Sun light - Pinky Beige (left) & Chestnut (right).

I did a full FOTD using Pinky Beige here! It looks so gorgeous on the eye with a pinky/gold eyeshadow on top. Perfect for brightening and opening the eyes up and adding some colour! It's fairly easy to use, simple use the doe-foot applicator in the tube to put it on the eye. Or you can use a synthetic brush to apply it to the lid and blend it out. So gorgeous and cute. Would also look lovely as a highlighter.

Chestnut i used for the first time the other day after watching one of Tanya Burr's tutorial. She used a dusky, maroon paint pot on Millie Mackintosh and did an amazing smokey eye. I thought this sounded pretty similar so of course i had to give it ago! It's such a gorgeous maroon (i love maroon!) and translates so lovely on the lid. It's so good for adding a bit of colour to a smokey eye simply add a dark brown or black to the outer crease.

Both are very pigmented and last all day long without creasing especially when worn with an eyeshadow on top. Both are simple to use, quick to put on and are opaque in one layer.

Available from the NYX website here for £5.

MUA Heaven & Earth Palette!

After trying out MUA's amazing Undressed palette not long ago, and falling in love, i thought i'd add another neutral palette to my collection also by MUA. I'm sure you've probably heard of the Heaven & Earth Palette which is a 12 shade eyeshadow palette costing just £4. Bargain.

Photobucket

As you can see the palette has every neutral colour you will need, a mix of lights, darks, cools and warms.  My only criticism is the palette is mostly shimmery shades, so if your more of a matte lover i wouldn't recommend this palette. But if you like a little bit of glitter like me, then you will love this.

You can use these shadows to create a subtle day look or really build them up (or use them wet) for an intense night time smokey eye. I love the dark browns smudged along the lower lashline.

All the eyeshadows are very pigmented, soft to touch and blend really easily. Just as good as some higher end alternatives. You can't fault this handy, all in one palette. Great for on the go! And as for lasting power, with a primer (i haven't tired them without) last all day long.

Shade 1 - 6

Shade 7 - 12

All in all, i love this product. And teamed with my Undressed palette i have a whole collection of every neutral eyeshadow i will ever need, ever, for only £8. I love this when i'm need of a quick smokey eye as all the shades go together. It would definitely be perfect if it had shades names, oh MUA! But, i can put up with that minor fault for a good quality, cheap palette!

You can get it online from the MUA website or from Superdrugs that stock MUA.

Have you tried this product? Do you love it as much as i do?

Battle of the Neutral Palettes! (Guest Post)

Hey lovelies! Another guest post today by the wonderful Rebecca from Beautiful Beauty Addiction. She has a great 'battle' post for you today (i love these) containing three palettes that are lusted over in the blogging community. I know she has me wanting them all...

So today i have another 'battle of the...' series. I was going to do a foundation one but i am currently trying out new ones and so i dont want to do it until i've tried them out! So instead i am going to be doing a neutral palette review as i have three that i have been loving! The three palettes are a range when it comes to price, i have two MUA palettes in Undressed and Heaven and Earth and then i also have the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. The Heaven and Earth Palette was bought from a blog sale, the Undressed Palette i won from Nadias giveaway and the Naked 2 Palette i bought from Ebay which i recommend as they are a lot cheaper and then you are getting a better deal if you cant afford £36 for it full priced.

Heaven and Earth Palette from MUA.
This palette retails for £4 and can be bought online or from Superdrug. The Heaven and Earth Palette consists of 12 shimmery brown toned colours so, if you dont like shimmer then this palette isnt for you! However, i love a bit of shimmer as it makes my eyes look more awake! The colours are very pigmented and easily blendable, i love the consistency and found that there is minimal fallout from the palette. They are quite nice colours and i was impressed by how manycolours you get for £4! I also love the look of these as the palette itself has a see through lid which means you can see all the colours. The colours inside this palette can be used for a day look and can be intensified for a smokey eyed look at night.

Undressed Palette from MUA.
This palette i won from Nadias blog and it has easily been compared to the Naked Palette. This palette is amazing! I love that it has shimmery and matte colours. My favourite colours are the gold toned ones. this palette, like the Heaven and Earth Palette is highly pigmented and has very little fallout. Again, it is easily blendable and has colours for a day and a night look. If you would prefer a palette with matte shades as well as shimmer then i ould recommend this palette rather than the Heaven and Earth palette.

Naked 2 Palette.
This palette cost me £15 from Ebay! I would definately recommend buying them from ebay as they are authentic and of a fantastic quality. They are classed as factory seconds but the only problem with this palette is one scratch on the back of the palette. I love the brush that it comes with and that also makes it amazing for travelling as it is efficient. The palette itself has a lot of similar colours to both the Undressed palette and the Heaven and Earth palette so if you wanted to you could just buy the two MUA palettes. However, i do love the Naked 2 palette as there is no fallout, the colours are nicely pigmented and the colours themselves are amazing! There is a mix of matte and shimmery but the shimmer is very slight so, it would still be suitable for those that dont usually use shimmer. And again, like the others it is fantastic for a day or night look.

Overall i love all three of these palettes and i would recommend them all. But, of course i would definately recommend the Naked 2 palette if you have the money or are able to buy it from Ebay.

MUA Undressed Palette.

Hello everyone! Today i want to share with you the latest palette that MUA have added to their collection of cheap but very good quality products. MUA is a brand i absolutely adore i cannot resist picking something up when i nip into superdrug. A few of their items are vital in my everyday makeup routine - like this eyeshadow here for example.

I have been so excited for the release of this palette ever since i first saw the shades on their facebook page - oh how i wanted it! 12 neutral shades in one handy palette for just £4 (yes you read that right) that's 3 eyeshadows per pound :| and i'll tell you now, they are very good quality.

Photobucket

As you can see this pallete comes packaged in a neat, glass case with a transparent lid so you can see the shades through. There is also a sponge applicator which, i don't personally use myself but it may come in handy some day!
There are a mix of cool and warm toned shades, matte and shimmer finishes (although mainly shimmer). But all eyeshadows are of good quality, highly pigmented and the shimmer/metallic shades not leave you like a disco ball. This palette has a good mix of light to dark shades meaning you have a highlight, eyelid and crease shade and can create so many looks! It's really all you need. You can create subtle daytime looks using shades 2, 5 & 10. Or use shades 9 & 10 in the crease for a dramatic night time smokey eye!
Also, primed (i use a Mac paint pot) these eyeshadows lasts hours and hours. I've used them for a night out - around 8 hours - and had no problems with creasing or fading.

Photobucket
top row l-r                  please excuse the fact you can't really see shades 3 & 5 as they are practically my skin colour!
Photobucket
bottom row l-r
The matte shades are less pigmented than the metallic shades but that is expected from most eyeshadows.
This palette has been likened to the Urban Decay Naked Palette (you know the one that costs £36) so your getting a bargain here. I could never bring myself to purchase the Naked Palette now i am so glad i didn't this fulfills my neutral eyeshadow needs. It's going to be perfect for travelling with.

I absolutely love this palette - well done MUA - yet again you've done us makeup addicts proud!
I'm also thinking of getting the Heaven & Earth palette by MUA so i have a huge collection of neutral shadows all encased to two sleek palettes!

Oh and if you like this palette and fancy one for yourself you can purchase it off the MUA website - it isn't available in store until July.

MUA Pearl Eyeshadow - Shade 1.

Welcome, my most used eyeshadow in my collection. It really is.

MUA Pearl Eyshadow in Shade 1 was my first ever MUA purchase before i started blogging :O So i've had this product in my stash for quite a long time. I remember when i first saw the MUA stand - i'd never heard of the brand before - i was just drawn to the £1 eyeshadows. I swatched a few on my hand, they looked highly pigmented so of course i couldn't resist for that price.

Shade 1 is a 'pearl' finish which means it contains shimmer. Shimmer can be quite scary you can end up looking more like a disco ball but, this is not the case here, the shimmer is finely milled through the powdered so it creates a lovely sheen as opposed to leaving glitter on your face! This makes it a great highlighter (which is how i use this eyeshadow daily) in the inner tear-duct of my eyes to create a bright eyed effect, as a browbone highlighter too and a eyelid shade with a darker colour in the crease. This is a lovely shade to add to your collection as it can be used in many ways.

Photobucket

Photobucket

As well as on the eyes i also use it as my face highlighter - my go to - it's the perfect cream/champagne shade with the perfect amount of shimmer to make you 'glow'. It blends so easily into the skin and is small and compact to carry around if you wanted. I apply this with a fluffy brush along my cheekbones, bridge of my nose and cupids bow!

Overall it is such a lovely highlight shade, it's so pigmented and such a multi-tasking product. I know i couldn't travel away without it. I would highly recommend everyone to have one of these in their collection as it will always come in useful!

You can purchase in Superdrug or on MUA's website and it's only a £1 - bargain?..

MAC Eyeshadow 'Dazzlelight'

MAC Eyeshadow in 'Dazzlelight' - available online/store/counter - £12 normally or £10 for the refill pan.

Hi lovelies! I just wanted to share my love for this eyeshadow with you! As you can see it is cream, verging on white eyeshadow. It is almost a monochrome finish - it reflects different shades of pink and gold in the light depending on the angle. This looks so beautiful as a highlight or inner tear duct shade to really brighten the eyes! I absolutely love this shade and don't regret picking it up atall. As always MAC eyeshadows are extremely pigmented but i find this shade can be applied lightly for a nice sheen or built up to an opaque finish!  Swatched next to 'Shroom' it is virtually identical - the only difference is this is probably slightly lighter and leans more pink in the light. It contains very very small particles of shimmer which feels smooth and it no way gritty and makes it a perfect highlight shade.
This is such a great highlighter both for the eyes and the rest of the face! I would recommend this in a heart beat - it's lovely neutral highlight to have in my palette :) I think it could work great on all skintones!

Have any of you tried this eyeshadow? What do you think?
Oh and if you could recommend any MAC eyeshadows - preferably neutral/everyday colours for my stash please let me know, that'd be great!

ELF Smokey Eye Beauty Book!

Elf Beauty Book - Smokey Eye kit - available from elf online/i got mine from T.K Maxx - £6

Clockwise: Front cover, instructions inside, eyeshadows inside the palette (excuse the missing sponge applicator - i lost it/got rid of it).

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet and let the pictures do the talking! As you can probably expect from ELF - this product is cheap and cheerful! Good price, high quality!

The powder eyeshadows are so highly pigmented and just as good quality as the likes of MAC. I tend to lean towards the neutral colours most in this palette but they are all brilliant. I love the cream (top left corner) as a highlight/lid colour! The shades on the end are supposed to be cream eyeshadows and even though they look good on the swatch on the eyelid i do not like them atall. They are so hard and stiff - not so much creamy and the colour is hard to build up - these are not so pigmented at all, a let down compared to the powders!
Each row has four shades so you can create a complete a full look, highlight, lid colour, crease shade and the cream eyeshadow can be used as a base or eyeliner. Although i skip the cream shadow and use my own eyeliner and base.

Flash                          No Flash

Overall i do love this palette/book i don't use the cream eyeshadows as they are just soo hard to work with and the pencil eyeliner isn't the greatest either and with most things the sponge applicator went straight in the bin! But, if you are interested in one of these from ELF i would definitely recommend it - a fun mix of bright and neutrals to apply how you like or create three different coloured smokey eyes (using the shades on the same row)! Definitely a product worth it's teeny pricetag!
