Makeup Monday: Rose Gold!

Hello everyone! I haven't done a makeup monday post for a while - not too sure why! But i want to get back on track. I shared my Pro Beauty haul the other day and have been loving playing round with a few of the bits i bought. Especially the NYX eye products!

So i decided to use the NYX Cream Shadow in Pinky Beige on my eyes. It's such a gorgeous baby pink basically with lots shimmer going through it giving such a bright, wide-eyed effect. Sometimes i love to be a little (or a lot) girly so this is perfect because it looks so cute!

I used the NYX 'Pinky Beige' Cream Eyeshadow on my eyes then set it with MAC's 'Expensive Pink' Eyeshadow which is a lovely light pink with a duo-chrome gold effect! It looks different in different lighting :) The cream shadow also looks great with Sleeks 'Rose Gold' Blusher on top which has even more gold through it!

On my face i simple put Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation on my 'problem area's (nose, under eyes, chin) then buffed Laura Mercier's Mineral Foundation all over my face so a flawless but natural finish! And bronzed with MUA's Bronzed Perfection Bronzer and used Sleeks 'Rose Gold' Blusher on my cheeks as it doubles up as a highlighter too.

On the lips i stuck with the pink theme ;) And used Revlon 'Berry Smoothie' Lip Butter - love, love, love this product as adds a pop of colour whilst adding a little bit of moisture to the lips!

Absolutely loving this eye combination recently. If i'm feeling slightly more dramatic i'll add a dark brown or black into the outer corner for some definition.

What do you think? Rose gold on the eyes - yay or nay?

Perfect A/W Makeup & Hair!

Hello everyone! After the lovely Rebeca's guest post on Autumn makeup looks i really wanted to do my own. Last year, one of my first posts was an A/W look (similar-ish) to this. I think my makeup/photography skills have improved greatly from then and really wanted to do re-do it. Hopefully you'll all like it! I do..

Makeup
Face: Mac Pro-longwear Foundation, Mac Studio Fix Powder, Mua Bronzed Perfection Bronzer (cheeks, temples), Nars 'Casino' Bronzer (contour).
Eyes: Avon Double-ended Kajal Stick - Brown end (line all around the eyes), MUA Heaven & Earth Palette 'Shade 12' (applied on top of eyeliner with a brush and smudged slightly), NYC Waterproof Mascara.
Lips: Sleek Eau La La liner in 'Raisin' (lipliner), MAC 'Hang Up' lipstick.

This is a look i will be rocking for the coming months. For me, A/W is all about vampy/berry lips, matte/flawless/natural skin and smokey eyes that are easy to do! This ticks all the boxes.

Now for the hair.. Photobucket
For me in A/W when it's raining, windy (in England anyway) i really want my hair out of the way! There's nothing worse than your hair blowing all over the place - so not a fan of the windswept look. So a pony tail is perrrrfect for me, here's how:

Make sure all hair is straightened or sleek on the top so it goes back nicely(don't do the lengths of your hair if you'd like it curly), then backcomb all the top layers of your hair on top to add lots of volume (think beehive!). Next tip your head upside down and pull it into a pony where its comfortable for you. Add a cuff if you like, pull some bits down around your face for a more relaxed look. And tah-dah..

Let me know if you re-create this look or even if you like it..

Sleek Purchases: Eau La La Liner & 'Rose Gold' Blush.

Hello! I have two makeup itemstoday both from Sleek. I bought these quite a long while ago now but have never got round to blogging about them.
I shared my first ever Sleek purchase here and on the same day i went and ordered these off the website! Delivery was fairly fast and i was really happy with the service.

These liners are meant to be useable on the eyes, lips, eyebrows or anywhere on the body you wish. There are 19 colours available so far. I went for 'Raisin' due to the fact i was looking for a purple eyeliner at the time but i also thought it'd be a good lipliner with plum lipsticks and a good base for a purple smokey eye! It unfortunately isn't too great for eyeliner as it's a plum - red based - so it can make eyes look really bloodshot/tired (not nice!). But, it is very long lasting, hard to smudge and opaque in one swipe which is good.
When looking at reviews of these people said when they received theirs the led inside the pencil was loose and came out a little bit. I had this problem with mine but it isn't too bad you just push it back in and it should be okay!

Here we have what i think must be one of Sleeks most popular blushes. I could never find it in store and it was sold out for a long time online, this is because it's a really good dupe of the much loved Nars 'Orgasm' blusher. Looking at swatches online it's pretty much exactly the same.
'Rose Gold' is a pink blusher with lots of gold shimmer. This makes it a perfect blush and highlight in one as it adds a flush of pink but the shimmer highlights the cheekbones. I find this blush needs a bit of building for the colour to show up quite opaque - but maybe this is because i have a darker skintone. I think it'll suit all skintones though (especially paler).

So, if you're looking for a good, cheap dupe of Nars's 'Orgasm' then Sleek is definitely the place to go! After buying this i can safely say i will not be investing in 'Orgasm'.

Have you tried any of these products? Or Sleek in general? What do you think? :)

Sleek Lipstick - 'Coral Reef'

Say hello to my first ever Sleek product. Yes that's right, first ever. I've heard so many good things about Sleek but i've never really wanted any of their products enough (until now) and my money has always gone on other brands first.

After seeing this post on Ayesha's blog (Miss Tinks Beauty) the Sleek lipstick 'Candy Cane' was added to my wish-list - come on, it looks amazing! But upon swatching 'Candy Cane' it just didn't suit me, no matter how much i wanted it too! But i didn't give up and i found this colour - 'Coral Reef' - that is just as bright and colourful but suits me much more!

So, 'Coral Reef' is a bright neon fuchsia pink with a definite coral undertone. It's a statement shade in just one coat but i still find it very wearable. If you're not a bright colour lover i suppose you could apply a few dots on the lips and blend for a light stain but it looks far more gorgeous applied straight from the tube. This is the perfect spring/summer colour as it really brightens up your look easily. It looks great with simple, minimal makeup and adds that little something to 'jazz' up your look.

I am so pleased with this lipstick. It's a 'sheen' formula which probably explains why it's not drying, doesn't enhance cracked lips and applies with such ease. The colour lasts the average sort of lipstick time - 3 hours-ish? Before fading to a nice stain anyway.

For £4.00 you cannot complain - i honestly didn't realise sleek lipsticks were this good (or cheap) or i would of got one earlier! So thankyou Ayesha or i may have never got this lipstick or any Sleek lipstick for that matter :O
I'm definitely intrigued to try a few more shades so if you can recommend any that'd be great?! Also if you've tried any Sleek lipsticks - what do you think?

Oh also, the packaging is so small and cute, like it's really tiny.
And i also have two more sleek products on the way in the post which i'm excited about - becoming a sleek addict?..
