Christmas Faces.

Tis the season to be jolly!

Hello all, Happy New Years Eve (January is now looming upon us!) and christmas is withering away (although i keep lighting lots Yankee Christmas candles in a bid to keep me feeling festive!). 

I've enjoyed looking at other bloggers 'christmas faces', basically what has been there go to makeup throughout the festive season. I have a pre-christmas face and a post christmas face using some new products. Who doesn't love getting new makeup?

Post Christmas Day

As you can see i pretty much use the same base, mascara, bronzer etc. everyday single day. The only big difference is the use of my beloved YSL lipstick which i have wore everyday since the 25th courtesy of my wonderful boyfriend. It's such a fab colour that can be worn packed on or sheer (review on the way!).          I also adore the MUA Brow Kit which was a lovely little stocking filler - the dark brown colour is perfect and the wax sets them in place.          I also picked up Topshop's 'Glow' highlighter with some christmas money as i'd heard lots of good things about it and it doesn't disappoint either, love the iridescent glow it gives!


Whats been your go-to makeup look this christmas? Vamp lips like me or something more natural?

Makeup Monday: Daytime Smokey Eye.

Hello, i have another makeup look for  you today. I'm gonna keep posting these every monday let me know what you all think and if people like it i will keep going if not, well i won't..

So above are all the products i used (apart from my setting powder - forgot that oops) so keep reading to see what look i created. I literally received my MUA palette mid-makeup and obviously had to put it into use ;)

Base - Benefit Porefessional on nose, chin and centre of forehead. Garnier BB Cream applied all over. Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer under eyes , around nose. MUA bronzer as contour in hollow of cheekbones. MAC Fleur Power blush on apples of cheeks. All set with MAC Blot Powder and MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural. 

Eyes - MUA 'Undressed' palette - Shade 1 (eyelid and highlight), Shades 10/11 (crease and lower lashline) and Shade 12 (eyeliner). George Asda 'Lash Xtend' Mascara.

Lips - Revlon lip butter 'Berry Smoothie'.

Eeee, anyway i hope you like look. I quite like it myself actually, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin atall but looks smart and it doesn't take that long to do. I reviewed the Garnier BB cream (here) and to put it bluntly - hated it. But the Porefessional helps it last that little bit longer and set with powder it lasts long enough so i'm enjoying using it up. I also reviewed/swatched the 'Undressed' palette here if you fancy a more in depth look at it!

Garnier BB Cream

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector - is the UK's answer to the much loved Asian BB creams. Many brands in the UK have released their own version now - and this is the only one i have ever picked up! It promises to be light, blur imperfections, smooth lines, make skin look luminous and even, hydrate - and can be used alone or as a primer and even provide SPF15 UV protection!  

My honest thoughts?

Personally, as an oily skinned gal, i am not a fan. atall.  I really wanted to like this for light coverage on those days when you don't want to be 'caked' in makeup! Honestly, for the first few hours this is perfect it gives a light, dewy coverage and makes you look naturally flawless. But after a while i soon looked like an oily mess, my once blurred imperfections were then fully on show for all to see and my flawless face was, not so flawless. Now i think this would work perfectly on dry/normal skin - it would last a lot long and give a healthy glow. But for us with oily skin - unfortunately i think we're going to have to stick with our long-lasting foundations and powders and find another way to achieve a flawless 'glow as this just fades. I am so sad because if it lasted that few hours longer - it would be amazing. I found it lasted about 4 hours before it had completely vanished from my t-zone/cheeks.

 Overall, it nots a terrible product - if you have normal/dry skin or even combination i think this could really work for you - but the i don't think it works well with oily skin atall. I think i will just use this on those days when i'm only nipping out for an hour or so and want a light/healthy glow. The coverage is pretty good actually and it feels light on the skin. 

My only real faults are the length of wear and the colour choice - light or medium. I have medium and matches well with my skin (nc42) i find it does 'work' with your skin to create a nice colour! But if your darker than me i'm not sure you can use this, it would be far too pale.

So Garnier - if this was longer lasting and there was a few more shades then i think you would have a 'miracle' product ;)

Oh and you can pick this up from boots or superdrug for £7.50! not too bad considering you get 50ml of product..
