Outfit: Leather & Studs.

Hi everyone! I have a fashion post for you today it feels like ages since i last posted an outfit.

Judging by the title you can probably tell two of my obsessions at the moment! I've wanted my mitts on a decent leather jacket for a long while now and i'm so delighted with this one i got from Zara whilst in London (see my haul here). In fact everything i'm wearing is from my London haul apart from the shoes which were a birthday present. Because, i'm sure i'm not the only one but as soon as i get new clothes i wear them constantly and cast everything else aside. I must of worn these jeans every other day since i got them and my leather jacket every time i've been out - it just seems to go with everything!

I'm loving dark colours at the moment - blacks, greys and more black! I don't know when i became so anti-colour but it happened! The most colour i wear these days is on my nails or lips. Hopefully now the weather is starting to pick up i might bring out some florals or maybe even my coral shorts ;) you never know!

Is it just me who loves dark clothing? Or do you love a pop of colour?

Outfit: By Vanese (Guest Post).

Today i have a guest post from the lovely Vanese as i'm currently on the train to LONDON (woohoo)! I am a huge follower of Vanese's blog and speak to her a lot on twitter - she is such a nice girl and i did a guest post on her blog a little while back (here). I'm so glad she decided to return the favour! So, here it is..

Hey you lovely lot,

I'm really delighted that Nadia asked me to do a takeover post for her while she's away in London. I'm Vanese, I'm 17 and run a blog called Vanzthemachinee. My blog consists of posts from fashion, beauty & lifestyle. My blog is filled with a mix of posts so if that's your type of thing then get following. ;) *Wow, I'm plugging myself while doing a guest post. Badass.*

I'm a Media Studies student in my first year of sixth form. I'm lucky because my school specialises in performing arts so we've always got singers and special events on. On Tuesday I was lucky enough to be able to attend my schools fashion show that they hold every year to show off the amazing work done by Year 11, Year 12 & 13 fashion students. A lot of my friends were involved in the show so I was seriously so excited to not just watch it but see the breathtaking work my friends have been apart of in creating.

Clearly this wasn't London, Paris or New York fashion week but I felt that I still needed to dress to impress. ;) Definitely a little awkward when people started turning up in jeans and a t-shirt but you can never be too over dressed, right? ;) I had such a lovely evening enjoying the show with my twin sister Ally (http://strawberries-taste-how-lips-do.blogspot.co.uk/) and one of my closest friends Katia. As you can see in the pictures I wore a coral dress, leggings, a blue cardigan and Chelsea boots. I felt so comfortable and surprisingly very confident in my outfit.

  Coral Dress - Store 21 £5.99
Blue Cardigan - Primark £10.00
Leggings - Primark £3.99
Chelsea Boots - Fashion Union £25.00

The dress was seriously such a bargain. Also, the fact that the belt just goes so perfectly with it is great. The detail on the back of the dress has to be my favourite part of it. I know it isn't that big but going out with my back showing like that is quite a big step for me so whenever I do build up my confidence I'll stop hiding the back of it over cardigans and jackets. If you've seen any of my posts on my blog you'll see that I over wear these boots way too much,  but to be honest I love them too much to even care. I got the blue cardigan from Primark a few months back and it seriously has been so warm and comfortable to wear out. I'm actually quite surprised that this was a comfortable and warm outfit because the weather has just been awful. Where's the sun gone? :(

I hope you've enjoyed this post and thank you again to the lovely Nadia for letting me do a post on her awesome blog. :D

Outfit: Carat Media Event.

Hi all! Today i have another outfit for you (getting pretty good at these). Obviously being a fashion (and beauty) blogger i have to share what i wore to a fashion event - it'd be rude not too!

If you've seen my previous post (here) all about the event then you'll know it was a chilled evening, nibbling, drinking and getting lots of useful blogging tips which i aim to put into action asap!

Top - H&M
Jeans - Topshop 'Leigh' jeans.
 Boots - River Island
Blazer - Primark

So, i feel like i wear these jeans in every single outfit i do aha, but that's just because i literally do love them - and wear them - to death! They're by far my comfiest pair of jeans i own and want to get some more colours in this style.

Also, i am succumbing to a trend i never thought i would! Literally a week before i bought this top i was shouting 'I HATE PEPLUM, WHO WOULD WEAR IT?!' to the television. Then, here i am wearing a peplum top and lusting after a few more peplum style items! I don't know how i can change from hating the style to loving it so much in a matter of days. I love the lace detail in this top and the fact it isn't as structured as some peplum tops. My only complaint is, it blows up in the wind (revealing my belly) not attractive and not ideal whilst waiting for a bus on a main road!

Anyhow, let me know what you think of the outfit? Don't you just love 'trusty' items (like my leigh jeans and my black blazer) that you can shove on anytime, anywhere and still feel glamorous?!

Outfit: Disco Pant Dupes.

Hello everyone! My posts have been lacking recently, i've just been busy (and lazy) so haven't been posting as much as usual although i do promise to get back to my regular blogging again from now on.

Today I wanted to share an outfit with you (one i've been dying to show). I love it so much and i hope you do too as it features two dupes of items which are lusted after in the blogging community - disco pants and Jeffrey Campbell Lita's. I'm always looking for cheaper alternatives to items like these as i'm not particular bothered about 'designers' or 'brands' as long as they look the same and fit nice i couldn't care less. Also a smaller price tag is nice too.

Pants - Very (here)

Shoes - Soyoushoes (here)

The pants are not showing up 'shiny' in the pictures, but they are! I think they're a brilliant dupe for the American Apparel Disco Pants for half the price. I'm so happy with my purchase and just want to wear them all the time. I wore this outfit to the pub, so i looked dressed up but not too much, we then decided to go out clubbing so this outfit carried me through both!

Now, this top has a very weird bottom (to put it frankly) it's hard to explain, but i'll try. It goes long on one side at the front then goes long at the opposite side at the back. So it's asymmetric but on the opposite side at the back and front. It's pretty strange but looks great left out or tucked it. It also has a details on the shoulders which you can't see because of my hair, sorry ;)

Hope you like the outfit - if your lusting after disco pants or lita's but don't want to fork out that amount of money then these are great (cheap) alternatives. The shoes do tend to hurt my toes after a few hours, but all heels do that so it's nothing new!

What do you prefer the 'real thing' or  cheaper alternatives?

Outfit: Next Supporters Scarf!

I have another fashion post for you today (getting good at these aren't i), this time it's something a little different! Today is all about one specific item... The Next Supporters Scarf!

In the words of Next: "The scarves have been designed by Next as part of their support for London 2012 and are the must have item of the summer! (All profits from the sale of the scarves will be donated to the British Olympic Association - helping British Olympic and Paralympic athletes deliver
their best performance at London 2012 and beyond.)"

I think this is such a great way of supporting our nation in the Olympics. Not only does it look good, everyone can get one and the money is going to good a cause too - what more could you ask for?
There are two scarves - a 'Team GB' scarf and a 'Paralympic GB Team' scarf both available in large or small - along with a selection of other things available here.

I have the Paralympic scarf and this is how i wore it...

Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Soyoushoes

I really do love this look and i will be rocking it when i come down to London just before the olympics in July with a slick of red lippy - nothing wrong with getting into the the Team GB Spirit! ;)

Don't you just love it? It's so wearable and i think it looks great with the maroon jeans (sticking with the red, white and blue theme) but, it also kept me very warm! Winter must have, maybe. There are soo many ways of using/wearing this scarf e.g. blanket, flag/banner, headband, top, sarong, cover up! So many ways, it's really up to you, can you think of any more?  I know i've already had it wrapped round my head and tied it round my bag too.

Anyway what do you think of this scarf? Will you be purchasing your self one? I can't wait to wear it with more things!

Oh, so if you'd like to join in the 'Wear it, Wave it & Win' campaign then click on this link here to find out all about it :)

Outfit: Business & Pleasure.

Another outfit post for you all today!

I wanted to share this lovely new dress i purchased from Topshop last week. I'm really into basics at the moment, i want things that will go with everything rather than fancy dresses that aren't versatile! This dress was £20 and is available in black and cream too - it's so flattering and looks so smart - i love it!
I'm also wearing my primark blazer (again). I seriously can't take it off :|

Excuse the indoor pictures - i was not standing outside in the pouring rain!! The weather was horrid.

Dress - Topshop
Blazer - Primark
Boots - River Island
Chain - Topman
Lipstick - MAC Viva Glam Nicki

Hope you like, i feel so smart in this outfit, especially with the sounds of the heels clicking when i walk.  The dress reminds me of something Kim Kardashian or Kate Middleton would wear - or is that just me? What do you think?

Oh and my boyfriend came up with the name 'Business & Pleasure' because he thinks i look 'business-y' when really i was going to friends for a few drinks haahaa. There's nothing wrong with looking smart is there? ;)

Outfit & Makeup: Jubilee Spirit!

Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying this jubilee weekend! I tweeted yesterday that i weren't really feeling the jubilee spirit, atall, but i thought i'd make a bit of an effort today! Perfect excuse for a slick of red lippy and my lovely blue dress that i have been neglecting (meaning i have only wore it once here).

I went out for another indian today (hence the outfit) - it is by far my favourite restaurant ever. I have been tonight, wednesday just been and the wednesday before that, how bad is that! Best shed the extra pounds i have added to my waistline, oopsy!

OOTN: Dipped Hems & Florals!

Hello all, thought i'd share an outfit with you today as i don't do that very often - mainly because of time and space. I am forever late/rushing everywhere so trying to take pictures never works and i also have no plain backdrops in my house to take a decent picture! Such a dilemma and setting up my tripod is a pain :( Anyway, enough moaning, onto the outfit..

Here's a nice little outake for you - not all pictures look like the onces above hahaa. God knows what i was saying!
Photobucket
Skirt - Primark
Top - Miss Selfridge (few seasons old)
Dolly Shoes - Primark
Necklace - Topman

I wore this to a house party on saturday so dolly shoes we're definitely needed to stay comfortable and not look overdressed although i think a nice pair of heels would have looked amazing too!
Anyway, hope you like the outfit, i love this skirt from Primark it's so affordable! They also do it in black - which my friend was actually wearing. The dipped hem adds a nice twist to a rather plain skirt which is so versatile by the way. I think it was something like £8 which is much cheaper than like the likes of Topshop or River Island and the material is actually such good quality - it does not crease!!

So i hope you all had a lovely weekend, did you get up to anything much? And i'll also be sharing my makeup for this night next in case you're interested!

Outift: Mint Green Dream..

So i'm sure you've all heard of Drake and know who he is, right?! Me and my friend were lucky enough to get tickets about two weeks before and we had an amazing night. Drake's so passionate about what he does. Here's a few photo's if you're interested:

Anyway, enough of Drake, here's what i wore...

The dress is from Desire - i bought it from the shop but it's available here online! I'd been craving something mint green for a while and i've been loving the asymmetrical trend - so i fell in love with this dress as soon as i set eyes on it! They also do it in a pretty coral/pink colour too. And the cute bow belt comes with it - although you can change it if you like! My one fault is the thin material - you could completely see the slogan (Wanna sleepover?) on my knickers through the dress when i tried it on - so  nude underwear was a must!

I teamed it with some brown platforms which just elongated my legs. They're gorgeous but deadly - i fell on my arse basically - sooo embarrassing! They were limited edition from Miss Selfridge, so sorry guys, they're no longer available ;)

So thats it really - i kept it simple as i didn't want to take any attention away from the dress, as the title suggests, to me, it's a 'mint green dream'!

Medieval Dress Up

So this is what i wore to a relative of my boyfriends 50th birthday party! As you can tell by the title and of course the outfit, it was a pre-19th century british character themed fancy dress and i was Maid Marian the partner of the famous Robin Hood.

We made the skirt and sleeves from burgundy velvet that we bought from a material store and the floral 'headband' was also some sort of ribbon from the same shop that i just tied and clipped in my hair. I wore my burgundy skater dress (similar to the ones sold in Topshop) and just put the skirt over, tied gold rope as a 'belt' and just put the sleeves on my arms (although they didn't last too long). It was freezing so my boyfriends hoody went on!
You can't see the shoes in the pictures as the skirt is so long but i wore my heeled chelsea style boots from River Island.

Makeup
Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation(long lasting!!)
MAC Studio Fix concealer
MAC Blot Powser (set t-zone) and MAC Mineralize Skin Finish (set whole face)
Illamasqua Powdered Metal - Ezrule (contour/bronze)
Avon True Colour Blusher - Shade 'Russet'

Eyes:
Cream shadow from an ELF palette
MAC 'Mulch' and 'Twinks' in crease and lower lashine and 'Carbon' in outer-v.
Mac Blacktrack gel liner (winged eyeliner) and AVON SuperShock mascara.

Lips:
MAC 'Twig' Lipstick

Overall it was such a fun night! I think even the birthday girl herself was shocked at all the effort everyone had gone to. Pretty proud of my 'homemade' outfit me and my mother made the night before - talk about leaving things to the last minute! There was stocks and everything it was so fun. And that is me enjoying chopping Robin Hood's (my boyfriend) head off!
What do you think? Like a bit of fancy dress every once in a while?

Nadia xoxo

New Year, New Outfit.

As you all know, today is the first day of 2012 and yesterday was New Years Eve. A night when many people dress up, go all out and celebrate another year! I celebrated my New Years Eve with my friends, my boyfriend and my family, it was an amazing night, fun, fun, fun.
How did you celebrate yours?
I went to my friends nye/birthday party (which was TOWIE themed and really fun), then i went to see my boyfriend and a few of his friends for 12o'clock (needed my boyfriend to be my new years kiss of course) and finally we came home and stayed up for a little while longer having a few drinks with my parents. Overall it was an hilarious night, lots of laughs with the people who mean the most to me.

D'ya think i look 'essexy' enough?

False lashes, check. Animal Print, check. Heels, check! I think i did alright.
I actually really like this outfit, it's sexy yet the shirt makes it quite 'classy' or grown up and the wedges are just the most comfortable heels in the world!

Clothes:
Shirt - Primark
Skirt - Shout (cheap shop in Manchester)
Heels - Sole

Jewellery:
Star Necklace - Topshop
Spike Bracelet - Topshop

Makeup:
Foundation - Estee Lauder Double Wear (sample) with MAC Matchmaster (another sample) over. Thought i'd use my samples up give them a try. More impressed with the Estee Lauder Double Wear though so far.
Powder: MAC Blot Powder Pressed on t-zone and MAC Mineralise Skin finish all over.
Contour/Bronze - MAC Studio Fix Powder in Nc45 (too dark).
Blush - a shimmery pink roll on thing from a Hello Kitty Makeup set (best i can describe it).
Eyeshadow - All by MAC. Mulch on lid, Twinks and Carbon in crease and on lower lashline for definition.
Eyeliner - MAC Fluidline gel liner.
Eyelashes - Ebay 99p for 10pairs and free shipping (bargain!!) bought twice off this seller and he/she are very good!  and the ones i am wearing are number 022 by the way.

Soooo, that is my look for New Years Eve! Although i'm not so sure i came home looking like that and i definitely didn't wake up looking anything like that. The extensions came out and the makeup didn't come off (naughty).  Well, i hope you all had a lovely night and a great start to 2012!
