Cute Bunny Easter Nails!

Just a quick post to show you all my attempt at some bunny nails! I've been seeing these all over twitter and took inspiration for MUA's version - which are waaay better than mine (have a look here).

Bunny's are so cute for easter - but i think they're also an adorable addition to your spring/summer nails!  

I used Barry M's 'Spring Green' to create the bunny's. I painted a semi-circle at the bottom on my nail and used one of those small, nail art brushes to draw to the ears! Then with the same small brush and some liquid eyeliner i drew eyes and a little button nose!

Anyway hope you're all having a lovely Easter Weekend and eating lotsss of chocolate! I'm looking forward to a lamb roast dinner - it smells delicious! 

MAC Pro Longwear Foundation Review!

Mac Pro Longwear Spf10 Foundation - 30ml - Available from MAC store/counter/online - £22.50

Claims to last 15 hours and control oily skin whilst being natural and lightweight!

Packaging: Like always the MAC packaging is a sleek rounded bottle made of clear glass (so you can see the colour) with a black cap - or in this case a handy pump! The pump is lockable to you can carry it around with you and not worry about making a mess and accidentally pumping it everywhere. 

Colour: As i have found with most MAC foundations i have tried - nc's tend to be very yellow toned. When first applied this does have a pretty unbearable yellow/orange tint but once it has oxidised it does look miles better - more natural! I find this is also slightly darker than other nc42's. So make sure you try a few different shades out and check what it looks like after about 15minutes to see if it is a good match. But overall, you will most likely find a shade that suits you!

 Consistency - I don't know if it's just me but this foundation seems to be quite thick and sometimes hard to blend. I find the best way to blend this is to use a foundation brush with  MAC Fix+ spray (review here) - this creates a nice, even coverage. When blended with my fingers i find it looks streaky and  nowhere near as flawless. 1 and a half pump of this gives a perfect medium coverage but you can definitely build it up to a full coverage without it being overly cakey. I find this foundation has a pretty much matte finish with maybe a slight bit of dewiness so it is natural looking!

Length of wear: Now, when i first bought this, i thought this foundation was amazing, lasted forever and controlled my oily t-zone amazingly. But, after a while i realised it wasn't that amazing! And since using Estee Lauder Double Wear i have come to realise it's really good, but not as good unfortunately. This is my everyday foundation when i'm not really going anywhere special and i'm not going out for a long, full day! I look pretty shiny after about 4hours (not unbearable though) and after about 6 hours my t-zone is an oily mess. I think if you have normal skin it will last much longer but if you have dry skin you'll need a good moisture before using this! 

Overall, this is a good everyday foundation and i will use this bottle up, but i do think Estee Lauder Double Wear is more long lasting and has better coverage! Will i repurchase this? No, probably not. It's good but Revlon Colourstay is just as good for half the price!

Favourites of March!

To be honest - i'm struggling with this monthly favourites thing - due to the fact i'm a boring sod and stick to what i know! My daily routine never really varies - think i might have to get a bit more adventurous though, don't you think?

Rose of Bulgaria Cleansing milk - www.rose-of-bulgaria.com - 4.80 euro's. 
I got this whilst on holiday in Bulgaria - it's really handy for getting makeup off at night and does an extremely good, fast and easy job of it! It smells like roses (obviously) and is soo gentle and soothing on the skin! If you go to Bulgaria i suggest looking at the Rose of Bulgaria line (cheap and cheerful).
Clinique Moisurizing Gel 125ml- Clinique (counter/online)  - £29
With the recent flush of hot weather in England (which has now gone) this has been a saviour - it gives my skin enough moisture without 'over do'ing' it. This helped my skin to be less oily so my makeup stayed on for longer in the heat! Not a fan of the pricetag though!
The Body Shop Body Butter 200ml - Mango - The Body Shop (store/online) -  usually £12.50 but available online now for £6.25 (bargainnnnnn!)
My mum has been a huge fan of this for a longgg time but i never really understood the buzz about this until recently! The scent is to die for - smells delicious! A little goes a long way - it adds lots of moisture to your skin, sinks straight in (no sticky/greasy legs!) and is so smooth. LOVE THIS STUFF!

Lee Stafford Poker Straight Flat Iron Protection Shine Mist - Boots (online/store) - £5.89
I have been a huge fan of Lee Stafford hair products for years - affordable, lovely looking (yay for the pink bottles) and definitely do what they say! I re-discovered this this month and wonder how i have coped without it? Protects hair against all heat (hair dryer, straighteners, curlers etc.) and does keep hair looking healthy and shiny!

Avon Colortrend Kajalstick - 'Black and Violet' - Avon (online/brochure) - Usually around 99p (price varies)
I featured the black and brown version of this is my January Favourites - can't get enough of these pencils - two colours in one, they last all day and are so handy to take out and about. I've been loving the purple to add some colour to the lower lashline and a black pencil eyeliner is always handy!


So, of course, i recommend all these products - and they're becoming or already are firm favourites of mine throughout the year not just march!  What are your march favourites?

MAC FIX+ - to spray or not to spray?

Max Fix+ - Mac Cosmetics (store/online) - £12.50

Described as 'An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energising scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!'

But do you really need need to spend £12.50 on this product? Is it really worth the price tag?

After wanting this product for so long - i finally got it for my birthday! I essentially wanted this product to use with pigments, and make eyeshadows more pigmented. And you can definitely use it in those ways and as i found out..  in more ways too. 

The main way i now use fix+ is when applying my foundation. I spray it onto my Sigma F80 (flat top kabuki) - or any foundation brush i am using - then use that to blend my foundation is seamlessly! I find this vital in my everyday makeup routine - i do it every single day without a doubt - i just find it makes my foundation blend and 'sit' on my face much more smoothly, evenly and gives more of a dewy finish!  Without a spritz or two of this my foundation does not blend anywhere near as seamlessly! I also find it helps 'cakier', heavier coverage foundations look a lot lighter.

So yes you can use this is many different ways; You can mix it with pigments to make an eyeliner and spray onto an eyeshadow brush to help less pigmented eyeshadows stand out. It is refreshing to spray on your face in the warmer months and definitely wakes you up in the morning. You can use it on your foundation brush (as i do) or use it on a cotton pad to get excess makeup off! Another way to use it is, as it says, to finish your makeup - this is a saviour for oily-skinned ladies like me - it means you can cover your face in powder as a spray of this gets rid of the powdery, cakey look and leaves you looking natural!

All in all there are many ways to use fix+, but i'm not sure it is worth the price tag - it's just the same as using water or a spray toner - but i think i may find myself re-purchasing this, i don't know why, i do just really like this product and sometimes wonder how i would do my makeup without it. If you're on a budget though, try one of Lush's spray toners - it can be used in all the same ways as fix+ and is all natural and good for your skin!

MUA Out There Plumping Lipgloss!

MUA - Out There Plumping Lipgloss - Shade 'Buff' - £2 - Superdrug

Although i have been blessed with quite full, large lips i have still been considering 'plumping' products for a while - just because i love the idea or big, full, sensuous lips (you know like you see in the adverts)! After seeing many blog posts about this product, i decided it was worth a try because the price is sooo cheap!!

Packaging: MUA are such a cheap brand - but the packaging does not reflect this at all - it's sturdy, sleek and is probably just as good quality as higher end brands. I love the fact this lipgloss is long and thin (so easy to feel and grab in your bag) and you can see the colour through the clear glass which is always helpful! The brush is a one of the spongy, 'doe foot' applicators which gives a even, smooth coverage.

Colour: As you can seee, once applied the colour is a lovely, milky pink. This shade (buff) and the shade 'nude' looked so similar in the bottle. I got buff because it was slightly browner and darker - suitable for darker skintones, whereas i think nude would be better suited for people with lighter skin. This a mauve pink, with no shimmer and it isn't a super 'wet' gloss. It just adds a nice, natural sheen of colour to your lips. And makes my dry cracked lips (boohhoo) look perfectly smooth and healthy (maybe even kissable? ;))

Length of wear:  It lasts around 2-3hours (typical of a lipgloss) and looks completely flawless for the whole time it is on the lips. The 'tingly' feeling you get, to me, isn't really 'tingly' it's like a mild (extremely mild) stingy feeling - but i kinda like it strangely (although that feeling may be because my lips are quite dry and sore). But you get that slight 'tingly' feeling for about 30seconds about a minute after you have applied the gloss - you won't feel anything at first!

Overall, i actually love this gloss - very much (and i am not a huge fan of lipglosses). I wore this over a lipstick on a night out and the next morning (weirdly) my mum did say my lips looked very plumped and large. I'm not sure it makes your lips look much more 'plumper' at the time, but it does make them look very good so for £2 it suits me fine!
